Overview

Descript is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join their team, playing a vital role in shaping growth strategy, enhancing experimentation culture, and scaling the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis to shape product PLG motion and B2B strategy.
• Develop a deep understanding of the product ecosystem to identify opportunities for activation, engagement, and monetization.
• Leverage AI tools to create self-service analytics for stakeholders.
• Own success metrics and opportunity sizing to improve product team execution.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams on experiment design, deployment, and analysis.
• Evolve the company's experimentation culture and practices.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in a Data Scientist or similar role.
• 3+ years in a growth function.
• Strong business and product intuition.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and A/B testing.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in a programming language such as Python or R.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Curiosity and a growth mindset, with the ability to navigate dynamic environments.
• Experience at a fast-growing startup is a plus.
