Overview
The role involves working as a Lead DevOps Engineer at NiCE, specializing in infrastructure challenges through software engineering and automation. The position is remote and focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive infrastructure standardization and operational excellence by developing automation frameworks in Python.
- Accelerate infrastructure provisioning through Terraform code-generation platforms.
- Improve system reliability and compliance by maintaining Puppet modules for Linux and Windows environments.
- Create PowerShell automation solutions for server management and hybrid cloud integrations.
- Develop internal automation tools and APIs for engineering teams.
- Integrate automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines to enable automated delivery of infrastructure changes.
- Implement testing strategies for infrastructure code.
- Document best practices and standards for automation frameworks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Python development experience with a focus on structured application code.
- Strong understanding of Python packaging and code quality tooling.
- Experience with Jinja2 templating and building CLI tools.
- Proficient in Terraform, including module design and state management.
- Hands-on experience with Puppet for configuration management.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting for Windows environments.
- Solid AWS experience and familiarity with CI/CD platforms.
- Ability to work with both Linux and Windows Server in production environments.
