Overview

The role involves joining the MongoDB Product & Technology team as an Engineering Manager in Gurugram, providing technical direction and implementing key elements of a platform to facilitate AI application development using MongoDB.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to an engineering team, promoting innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Drive architectural vision for the platform across various environments including public clouds, private clouds, and on-premises.
• Collaborate with product managers, design, and analytics teams to define and deliver new features.
• Plan and execute major feature development while managing delivery risks.
• Oversee monitoring, operations, and maintenance of systems developed by the team.
• Remove technical obstacles and support team efficiency and well-being.
• Participate in hiring and project assignment to plan for organizational growth.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building distributed systems or foundational cloud services, with knowledge of languages such as Python, Golang, Java, or Rust.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team of 3 or more engineers.
• Experience in hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Background in building core components for high-scale compute or data processing systems.
• Experience in launching and maintaining new features in production.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) and AI frameworks is a plus.
• Eager to learn and contribute technically.
