    Malteser International is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Since 2017, we have been active in Nigeria, particularly in the Northeast, including Borno, Taraba, and Adamawa States. Our programs focus on water, sanitation, and hygiene, protection, and food, nutrition, security, and livelihoods.

    In Katsina State, we are currently seeking to recruit a Logistics Assistant. This is a national position that will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of our humanitarian programs in the region. The Logistics Assistant will work closely with the Logistics Team at the Country Office to support procurement, inventory management, transportation, and other logistical activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Logistics Assistant will:

    • Provide overall support for the management of logistics activities in Katsina State.
    • Assist in implementing procurement and logistics procedures in line with organizational policies and donor requirements.
    • Support the preparation and processing of procurement documents, including bids, purchase requests, and other necessary paperwork.
    • Follow up on Goods Received Notes and Job Completion Certificates submitted by program teams.
    • Maintain accurate and organized filing systems for all logistics and procurement documents.
    • Manage warehouse or store operations, ensuring proper inventory updates and asset tagging.
    • Coordinate vehicle requests, travel arrangements, and other logistical requirements as needed.
    • Support the logistics team in monitoring the use and maintenance of assets, including vehicles and equipment.

    Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience, preferably in an NGO or development sector setting.
    • Basic knowledge of stock management, asset tracking, inventory management, and fleet operations.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

    Contract Details and Benefits

    • The position is for a ten-month contract, with the start date contingent upon funding approval for the upcoming project.
    • Duty station will be in Katsina, Katsina State, Nigeria.
    • Salary will be in line with the Malteser International salary scale.
    • Benefits include group life insurance, health insurance package (single or family coverage), and thirteenth month pay.
    • Additional leave entitlements include annual leave, compensation leave, academic leave, wedding leave, and compassionate leave.
