Overview

The role involves leading the Secure Build and SCS Services teams at Docker, focusing on building trusted infrastructure for container builds and backend systems that enhance software security. Key Responsibilities

• Lead Secure Build and SCS Services, managing delivery, team health, growth, and operational excellence.
• Create a coherent portfolio plan from two changing roadmaps with clear priorities and trade-offs.
• Partner with Product to shape strategy and roadmaps for secure build and related services.
• Stay engaged with technical work through design reviews and incident responses.
• Ensure technical direction meets product, security, reliability, and customer priorities.
• Own team interfaces, including trust boundaries, contracts, and customer-facing failures.
• Balance new product development with operational demands and invest in reliability improvements.
• Drive engineer growth and performance management.
• Align cross-functional partners while protecting team focus.
• Facilitate clear communication of decisions, risks, and progress across time zones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in backend or infrastructure.
• Experience with team growth and performance management.
• Strong judgement in backend systems, APIs, and production operations.
• Understanding of software supply-chain security and trust boundaries.
• Strong product judgement with experience in shaping product roadmaps.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional influencing skills.
