Manager II, Config Deployments @Pinterest

Overview

Pinterest is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Config Deployments team, which provides infrastructure platforms for feature flags and configuration management. The role involves setting the direction for building resilient infrastructure platforms while collaborating with talented engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coach an engineering team developing high-scale configuration distribution systems.
• Align strategy with stakeholders and translate customer needs into a realistic roadmap for infrastructure.
• Drive efficient execution, mitigate risks, and empower team members.
• Foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
• Support thoughtful team growth and implement best practices in CI/CD and configuration management.
• Utilize AI for planning, technical exploration, and decision-making.
• Automate management tasks with AI to allow focus on higher-leverage work.

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ in infrastructure.
• 1+ year of engineering management experience.
• Experience leading teams focused on improving developer experience through infrastructure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to evaluate and verify AI-assisted work for quality and correctness.
