    πŸ”Ž About the Role

    The MEAL Programme Officer will provide technical advisory support to a consortium delivering an ECHO-funded humanitarian project in Northeast Nigeria. This role is central to strengthening Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems across multiple partners, ensuring alignment with donor standards and organisational policies.

    Working within a collaborative consortium structure, the advisor will support harmonisation of tools, improve data quality, and promote evidence-based decision-making. While the position does not hold direct decision-making authority, it plays a critical role in influencing programme quality through expert guidance and capacity strengthening.

    🧩 Key Responsibilities

    • Provide technical guidance on MEAL systems, tools, and frameworks
    • Ensure compliance with ECHO requirements and CAFOD standards
    • Support development and harmonisation of MEAL frameworks across partners
    • Review monitoring tools, PDMs, and accountability mechanisms
    • Strengthen data collection, analysis, and reporting processes
    • Facilitate training sessions and build partner capacity
    • Support learning events, documentation, and knowledge sharing
    • Enhance accountability systems, including feedback channels
    • Contribute to donor reports and programme updates
    • Represent MEAL functions in coordination meetings when required

    🎯 Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • Strong background in MEAL within NGO/INGO or humanitarian settings
    • Experience in emergency or conflict-affected contexts
    • Proficiency in digital data tools such as KoboCollect
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills
    • Proven ability to train and mentor diverse teams
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Willingness to travel within project locations
