Overview
Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) is seeking two Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Interns to support data and learning activities under the Mastercard Foundation Africa Growth Fund. The internship is 6 months with a possibility of renewal and can be full-time or part-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management and Analysis: Support data cleaning, validation, and quality assurance. Organize and analyze datasets, identify trends, and conduct basic statistical analysis.
- Data Visualization and Insight Generation: Develop charts, graphs, and tables to communicate program results. Support the creation of dashboards and translate complex datasets into clear insights.
- PowerPoint Reporting and Knowledge Products: Prepare PowerPoint presentations and assist with quarterly reports and learning briefs.
- Support to MERL Reporting and Learning: Assist with indicator tracking, performance summaries, and internal data requests.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
- Preferred: Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools, knowledge of M&E frameworks, experience with statistical tools (Stata, R, Python, SPSS), fluency in English and French.
