    Overview

    This position offers a two-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal. The Mount Elgon Livelihoods Project Coordinator will support implementation of sustainable agriculture and climate resilience interventions across Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties in Kenya.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support on agroforestry and sustainable land management.
    • Coordinate project officers, community facilitators, and partner organisations.
    • Develop annual work plans and budgets.
    • Support climate change adaptation and mitigation activities.
    • Oversee farmer group capacity strengthening.
    • Support community-driven monitoring and evaluation systems.
    • Ensure adherence to SALM methodologies and project standards.
    • Coordinate income-generating and livelihood improvement activities.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports.
    • Strengthen collaboration with government agencies and local stakeholders.

    Requirements

    • University degree in a relevant field.
    • Minimum five years of NGO sector experience, with at least three years in leadership roles.
    • Experience in agroforestry and sustainable agriculture land management.
    • Experience in climate change mitigation and carbon sequestration projects.
    • At least two years of project management experience.
    • Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
