Network Engineer II @Five9

Overview

The role involves working as a Network Engineer II in a 24/7 Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment, focusing on complex LAN infrastructure initiatives while ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end troubleshooting of complex LAN connectivity, firewall policy, and load balancer issues.
• Conduct analysis of network incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
• Lead responses to network and security incidents.
• Drive LAN infrastructure projects involving Cisco Nexus, Palo Alto, and F5 technologies.
• Design next-generation data-center fabric architectures in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Develop operational metrics using observability platforms like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Drive automation strategy using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Manage overall network security policies and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in medium-to-large networks and security principles in a production environment.
• Expertise with Cisco Nexus, Palo Alto firewalls, and F5 BIG-IP.
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python).
• Strong knowledge of LAN protocols and technologies.
• Experience in incident response, change management, and operational governance.
• Excellent communication skills.

Location

This role is fully remote for candidates outside a 30-mile radius of any Five9 office. Candidates within this radius should expect a hybrid work model, requiring three days in the office.
