Overview
The Nutrition Assessment Consultant will support a state-level Nutrition Ecosystem Assessment aimed at understanding factors influencing nutrition outcomes across selected Nigerian states.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate and refine stakeholder lists
- Engage government ministries and agencies to obtain approvals
- Coordinate with State Ministries of Health and nutrition focal persons
- Schedule and manage interviews and consultations
- Conduct Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with government officials and partners
- Facilitate structured consultations where needed
- Document findings using standardized templates
- Collect and analyze state-level nutrition policies, reports, and strategies
- Extract nutrition-related data from sources such as DHIS2
- Compile structured findings and produce a state-level insight brief
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Health Systems, or related field
- 7–10 years of experience in public health, nutrition, or health systems work
- Experience in mixed-methods research or assessments
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s health and nutrition systems
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
- Excellent report writing and synthesis ability
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
- Familiarity with health systems strengthening frameworks
