Overview

The Peace Building and Community Engagement Officer position at COOPI – Cooperazione Internazionale involves contributing to peacebuilding and community engagement activities in Nigeria, primarily under the FCDO-funded project “Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRiNG).”

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement peace-building initiatives and activities.
Facilitate community dialogues, workshops, and training on conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
Support local peace-building strategies considering community contexts.
Monitor project progress and identify challenges for effective implementation.
Establish relationships with community members and local leaders.
Conduct monitoring and evaluation of peace-building activities.
Represent the organization in relevant peace-building meetings and events.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, or Political Science.
3–5 years of experience in peacebuilding and community engagement.
Knowledge of conflict dynamics in North Central Nigeria and mediation techniques.
Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Knowledge of Hausa is preferable.
