Overview
The Platform for Peace and Humanity is seeking a volunteer Project Coordinator to support its Mediterranean Programme, focused on advancing food security initiatives in the Mediterranean region.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analysis of food security issues in the Mediterranean.
- Outreach to stakeholders and development of partnerships.
- Coordination of project implementation and operational tasks.
- Monitor geopolitical developments affecting food security and human rights.
- Contribute to publications and strategic documents in consultation with the Programme Director.
- Engage with civil society organizations, universities, and other stakeholders.
- Identify funding opportunities and develop partnerships.
- Collaborate with the Programme Director and Platform staff on project development and implementation.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of the Mediterranean region's socio-political, environmental, and human rights contexts.
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields such as natural resources management or international relations.
- Experience in food security research and/or project coordination.
- Project management skills, including budget development.
- Professional-level English proficiency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Passion for the mission and values of the Platform.
Benefits
This is a voluntary, unpaid position requiring a time commitment of 5–10 hours per week, with a minimum duration of 12 months including a one-month probation period.
