The role focuses on providing technical, administrative, and quality assurance support for engineering projects while ensuring planning, design, execution, compliance monitoring, and reporting activities are conducted efficiently in accordance with organisational standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Support
Successful candidates will be responsible for supporting engineering project implementation through:
- Compiling and maintaining project documentation and specifications
- Supporting site inspections
- Ensuring compliance with approved engineering designs
2. Quality Assurance and Compliance
The role requires maintaining engineering quality standards by:
- Ensuring engineering activities comply with QA/QC standards and procedures
- Assisting in preparation and implementation of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs)
- Reviewing contractor submissions including method statements, drawings, and material approvals
- Participating in inspections, audits, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
3. Technical Administration
Responsibilities include technical coordination and documentation management through:
- Maintaining engineering records, registers, and filing systems
- Preparing technical reports and progress updates
- Coordinating communication between contractors and internal teams
- Supporting procurement processes including technical specifications and evaluations
4. Site and Field Support
Field support duties include:
- Conducting site visits to monitor construction and installation activities
- Verifying completed work against specifications and engineering drawings
- Reporting non-conformances and assisting with corrective action implementation
- Supporting workplace health and safety compliance on-site
5. Data Management and Reporting
Reporting and project monitoring duties include:
- Capturing and analysing project and quality assurance data
- Preparing monthly and quarterly performance reports
- Maintaining contractor and project performance dashboards and scorecards
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following qualifications and experience requirements:
- National Diploma or Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience in QA/QC, construction supervision, or engineering monitoring
- Knowledge of South African engineering standards and regulations including SANS and API
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and quality management systems
Advantageous Qualifications
The following will provide an added advantage:
- Project Management qualification or experience
- Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
