    Overview

The Principal Product Manager for Telemetry Collection will be part of the Observability team, responsible for driving the strategy and execution of edge telemetry collectors and remote management capabilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define the product vision, go-to-market strategy, and execution roadmap for the Elastic Agent framework, Fleet Server/Service, and telemetry collectors.
    • Define and track KPIs focused on agent deployment success, pipeline efficiency, and the adoption of OTel distributions.
    • Oversee the packaging, testing, and distribution of the Elastic Agent and its various distributions.
    • Drive remote management capabilities for Elastic Agent and Fleet Server.
    • Develop vision and release strategy for cloud-native deployments focusing on Kubernetes operators and Helm Charts.
    • Guide the ongoing development of receivers and exporters across Elastic Agent and the upstream OpenTelemetry Collector project.
    • Manage Filebeat and oversee the maintenance of the Beats repository.
    • Lead product initiatives for Logstash to improve user experience.
    • Collaborate closely with engineering, UX, and product marketing teams.
    • Act as a spokesperson for Elastic’s agent framework and collection capabilities at events.

    Requirements

    • Minimum five years in a Product Management role with a focus on enterprise infrastructure observability, telemetry collection, or agent frameworks.
    • Deep technical familiarity with collectors and agent ecosystems such as OpenTelemetry Collector and Elastic Agent.
    • Proven track record in defining requirements for remote agent management and fleet control planes.
    • Understanding of Kubernetes operators and release management.
    • Experience in IT Ops, DevOps, or as a solution architect is ideal.
    • Expertise in OpenTelemetry standards.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Familiarity with modern AI productivity tools.
    • Ability to work in a distributed team.
    • Strong familiarity with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats).
