Overview
Real-Time Innovations (RTI) is seeking a Principal Research Engineer to drive innovation in secure, adaptable, and fast distributed systems. The company focuses on making the smart-planet promise a reality through emerging technologies and advanced solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Research emerging technologies and develop novel solutions for challenges posed by research sponsors.
- Define research areas of interest and formulate research proposal topics with the business-development team.
- Compose research proposals and report progress to sponsors.
- Execute and lead research contracts to advance technology.
- Serve as Principal Investigator and/or Staff Member on externally-funded contracts.
- Interface with research sponsors, customers, partners, and prospects.
- Develop expertise in emerging technologies and share insights across the organization.
- Communicate innovations through papers and presentations.
- Support transition of innovations to product, coordinating with product management and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with physical applications or distributed systems research.
- Strong written communication skills and a record of research publications.
- Solid programming skills with experience in AI-assisted software development.
- Able to engage with a highly distributed team.
- Must qualify as a "U.S. Person" due to government regulations.
