Overview

They are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Search Infra team. This role involves defining, directing, and building the next generation of Elasticsearch capabilities, focusing on delivering a robust search experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, lead, and contribute to the evolution of core search and indexing capabilities.
• Research advancements in search infrastructure and retrieval algorithms to build efficient foundations.
• Collaborate with partners and product teams to shape the long-term technical vision for search.
• Drive innovative roadmaps for Elasticsearch’s indexing, query execution, and relevance layers.
• Act as a go-to expert on several areas of Elasticsearch, continuously improving them.

Requirements

• Experience leading technical projects in search infrastructure and distributed systems.
• Proven knowledge in building and operating complex search platforms.
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical guidance.
• Hands-on experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, or Solr.
• Strong skills in core Java and familiarity with advanced data structures.
• Able to work autonomously from concept to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
