Overview
The Program Explorations Associate will support the design, testing, and scaling of new interventions aimed at increasing program impact. This field-intensive role involves significant travel (approximately 12–15 weeks annually) to observe pilots, troubleshoot challenges, and engage stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Work & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Observe pilot programs (e.g., ORS distribution, SMS reminders) and identify implementation gaps.
- Conduct supervision visits and qualitative assessments with caregivers and health workers.
- Engage with local and state government health officials.
- Assess pilot execution before scaling recommendations.
- Internal Coordination:
- Work with engineering teams to improve data collection tools.
- Collaborate with operations teams on training and protocols.
- Coordinate with stakeholder relations and audit teams.
- Translate field insights into actionable recommendations.
- Program Design & Evidence:
- Support randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and surveys in collaboration with partners.
- Review research and synthesize program learnings.
- Develop and monitor key program indicators.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, International Development, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in operations, research, M&E, or consulting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Willingness to travel within Nigeria.
- Preferred: Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, especially Nigeria; Familiarity with impact evaluations or RCTs; Background in NGOs, research, or global health programs.
