Overview

The Program Explorations Associate will support the design, testing, and scaling of new interventions aimed at increasing program impact. This field-intensive role involves significant travel (approximately 12–15 weeks annually) to observe pilots, troubleshoot challenges, and engage stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Field Work & Stakeholder Engagement:

Observe pilot programs (e.g., ORS distribution, SMS reminders) and identify implementation gaps.
Conduct supervision visits and qualitative assessments with caregivers and health workers.
Engage with local and state government health officials.
Assess pilot execution before scaling recommendations.

Internal Coordination:

Work with engineering teams to improve data collection tools.
Collaborate with operations teams on training and protocols.
Coordinate with stakeholder relations and audit teams.
Translate field insights into actionable recommendations.

Program Design & Evidence:

Support randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and surveys in collaboration with partners.
Review research and synthesize program learnings.
Develop and monitor key program indicators.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, International Development, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in operations, research, M&E, or consulting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Willingness to travel within Nigeria.
Preferred: Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, especially Nigeria; Familiarity with impact evaluations or RCTs; Background in NGOs, research, or global health programs.
