This impactful initiative, funded by the De Beers Group, focuses on strengthening women-owned micro-enterprises by improving business capacity, digital literacy, mentorship access, entrepreneurship development, and economic empowerment.
The internship offers graduates and students an opportunity to gain direct experience supporting community-based entrepreneurship programmes while contributing to women’s economic empowerment initiatives across local municipalities.
About the EntreprenHER Programme
The EntreprenHER Programme supports low-income women entrepreneurs across South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia.
The programme aims to:
- Strengthen women-led micro-enterprises
- Provide entrepreneurship and business management training
- Improve access to digital skills development
- Expand access to markets through digital platforms
- Promote climate-smart agriculture adoption
- Build economic independence and income security for women entrepreneurs
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme & Logistical Support
Successful candidates will:
- Assist with training and mentorship event preparations
- Support exhibitions, stakeholder meetings, graduations, and field visits
- Prepare certificates, attendance registers, name tags, and event materials
2. Administrative Support
Interns will:
- Maintain programme documentation and filing systems
- Update beneficiary contact databases and programme trackers
- Support scheduling and coordination activities
3. Monitoring & Data Support
Responsibilities include:
- Collecting attendance registers and activity documentation
- Supporting data entry and uploading programme information
- Checking documentation completeness before submission
4. Communications Support
Interns will assist with:
- Event visibility coordination
- Branding compliance during programme activities
- Supporting communications teams during outreach events
5. Stakeholder Coordination & Learning
Candidates will:
- Attend programme meetings and assist with note-taking
- Support coordination between municipalities, trainers, and entrepreneurs
- Gain exposure to partnership management processes
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have studies in:
- Entrepreneurship Studies
- Business Studies
- Development Studies
- Social Studies
- Public Administration
- Related academic disciplines
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Enrolled in postgraduate studies
- Final year undergraduate student (Bachelor’s level or equivalent)
- Recent graduate (must begin internship within two years of graduation)
- Enrolled in professional postgraduate traineeship programme

Internship Benefits
