    Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States, is seeking a qualified Project Manager – Infrastructure to support its operations in Adamawa State, Nigeria. Catholic Relief Services (CRS) operates in over 100 countries, delivering impactful programmes in emergency response, health, agriculture, education, and peacebuilding. In Nigeria, CRS focuses on health systems, vulnerable populations, agriculture, governance, and resilience programming.

    Role Overview
    The Project Manager – Infrastructure will lead the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of infrastructure-related interventions under the STaR Project (Stabilization and Reconciliation in the Lake Chad Region). The role involves managing project activities, stakeholder relationships, and technical processes to ensure high-quality, conflict-sensitive, and community-driven infrastructure delivery for Catholic Relief Services (CRS).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee project lifecycle activities including planning, implementation, monitoring, and close-out in line with CRS standards and donor requirements (KfW/BMZ).
    • Manage technical teams, site supervisors, and contractors while ensuring staff performance and well-being.
    • Ensure quality assurance, compliance, and proper documentation of infrastructure works.
    • Coordinate budget management, procurement processes, and timely reporting.
    • Strengthen partnerships with government agencies, community stakeholders, contractors, and NGOs. Notably, collaboration with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is vital for effective operation.
    • Represent CRS in engagements with donors, UN agencies, and coordination platforms.
    • Identify risks related to implementation, procurement, and contractor performance, and recommend solutions.
    • Support capacity building for staff, partners, and community structures to ensure sustainability of infrastructure interventions.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, preferably within infrastructure, construction, or community development programmes.
    • Membership in relevant professional bodies such as COREN, NSE, NIA, or NIQS is required.
    • Experience with donor-funded projects (e.g., KfW/BMZ) and NGO environments is an added advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, construction supervision, and contract management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with construction/design software is beneficial.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
    • High level of accountability, attention to detail, and results orientation.

    Additional Requirements

    • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Hausa is strongly preferred, while Kanuri or Fulfulde is an advantage.
    • Willingness to travel up to 60% within project locations.
