    Search for Common Ground is recruiting Project Officers Early Warning and Early Response for an EU funded peacebuilding project focused on reducing conflict and strengthening community resilience in Nigeria’s North Central region.

    About the Role
    The Project EWER Officer will support community based early warning systems to detect prevent and respond to conflict. The role involves working closely with communities government stakeholders and partners to strengthen peacebuilding and rapid response mechanisms.

    Key Responsibilities

    Coordinate community early warning observers and facilitate regular meetings
    Receive verify and analyze incident reports for timely response
    Produce weekly reports and monthly analytical updates
    Develop and share early warning bulletins with stakeholders
    Support conflict analysis research and documentation
    Assist in project implementation reporting and coordination
    Strengthen collaboration with community structures and partners

    Requirements

    Education
    Degree in Peace Studies Conflict Resolution Peacebuilding or related field

    Experience
    Minimum 3 years experience in early warning conflict management or similar roles
    Experience working in NGOs or development programs
    Familiarity with North Central Nigeria context is an advantage

    Skills

    Strong analytical and reporting skills
    Good communication and stakeholder engagement ability
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel
    Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
    Teamwork and problem solving skills

    Additional Requirements

    Knowledge of local languages is an advantage
    Understanding of conflict dynamics in Benue and Nasarawa
    Ability to work with government NGOs and community groups
