    Personal Assistant to the Chief Operations Officer – PSETA

    The Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA) is inviting applications from suitably qualified, competent, and experienced professionals for the position of Personal Assistant to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).

    This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive administrative professional seeking to build a career within the public sector.

    The successful candidate will provide strategic administrative and executive support to the Chief Operations Officer and contribute to the efficient functioning of the COO’s office.

    The position is based at the PSETA offices in Hillcrest, Pretoria and is offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2030.

    Salary

    • R524,540.58 per annum

    About the Role

    The successful candidate will provide high-level executive and administrative support to the Chief Operations Officer by coordinating operational activities, managing executive schedules, supporting stakeholder engagement, consolidating reports, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day administration of the COO’s office.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful applicant will be responsible for:

    • Organising, coordinating and recording minutes for internal and external meetings, workshops and conferences.
    • Producing meeting reports and following up on resolutions.
    • Managing the COO’s diary, appointments and travel arrangements.

    • Providing comprehensive administrative support to the COO.
    • Conducting research and gathering information as required.
    • Consolidating monthly and quarterly reports.
    • Supporting procurement processes through documentation and coordination.

    • Preparing correspondence, confidential reports and routine documentation.
    • Maintaining effective document management and record-keeping systems.
    • Ordering office stationery and consumables.
    • Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    • Acting as a liaison between the Office of the COO and stakeholders.
    • Responding to general enquiries where appropriate.
    • Identifying opportunities to improve office administration processes.
    • Performing additional duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants should possess:

    • A minimum Certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration or a related qualification (NQF Level 5).
    • At least 3 years’ experience as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant or in a similar administrative role.

    • A valid Code B Driver’s Licence.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Strong report writing and report consolidation skills.

    • Executive-level stakeholder management experience.
    • High levels of confidentiality and professional discretion.
    • An understanding of public sector governance (advantageous).
