Overview
This position offers an opportunity for early-career researchers and development professionals to contribute to policy-oriented research focused on education, governance, social inclusion, and socio-economic development in Cambodia.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with designing research methodologies and developing data collection tools
- Prepare ethics review documentation
- Conduct literature reviews and support manuscript preparation
- Coordinate fieldwork activities and manage enumerators
- Conduct interviews and surveys
- Perform data entry, cleaning, transcription, translation, and analysis
- Draft analytical reports, publications, and presentations
- Support project logistics and procurement needs
- Organize meetings, workshops, and dissemination events
- Track project timelines, deliverables, and budgets
- Supervise project interns and coordinate communication between teams
- Maintain project records and update project information for the CDRI website
- Contribute to proposal development and grant application processes
- Develop a self-initiated research project and prepare a research concept note
- Contribute to scholarly publications
- Participate in capacity-building and training programmes
Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies, or Social Sciences
- A Master’s degree is a plus
- Strong research and analytical skills, particularly in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
- Experience with data management and analysis software such as NVivo or STATA is beneficial
- Exceptional written and spoken proficiency in both English and Khmer
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Understanding of inclusive and gender-responsive research practices
- Flexibility and willingness to travel for fieldwork
