Overview
The G20 Global Land Initiative (G20 GLI) seeks a dedicated Research Associate to support efforts to reduce land degradation by 50% by 2040. This consultancy position will last for 100 days, starting from May 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct online research on land restoration, desertification, drought, policy developments, financing mechanisms, and technological innovations.
- Prepare concise briefing notes on emerging issues, upcoming events, and strategic opportunities.
- Develop high-quality PowerPoint presentations for meetings and stakeholder engagements.
- Organize and coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up.
- Support drafting and editing official correspondence, reports, and documents.
- Maintain an organized repository of research materials and stakeholder contacts.
- Provide general research and administrative support to the Director and team.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in international relations, development studies, environmental policy, communications, or related fields.
- Minimum of two years of experience in online research, drafting documents, and preparing presentations.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise summaries.
- Experience organizing meetings or events is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with environmental issues, land restoration, or international development is an asset.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of an additional UN language is advantageous.
