Overview

Real-Time Innovations (RTI) is seeking a Research Engineer to join their research team focused on smart distributed systems. This individual contributor role involves tackling industry challenges and collaborating with experts to explore emerging technologies and develop innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Innovate new solutions that form the foundation of secure, adaptable, and fast distributed systems.
• Collaborate with the business-development team to define research areas of interest and proposal topics.
• Compose research proposals and report progress to sponsors.
• Execute and lead research contracts to advance technology.
• Serve as Principal Investigator or Staff Member on externally-funded research contracts.
• Interface with research project sponsors, customers, and research partners.
• Develop expertise in emerging technology and share insights throughout the company.
• Communicate technical innovations through publications and presentations.
• Support the transition of promising innovations to product, coordinating with relevant teams.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with physical applications or distributed systems research.
• Strong written communication skills with evidence of research publications.
• Solid programming skills and experience with AI-assisted software development.
• Ability to engage actively with a distributed team.
• Must qualify as a "U.S. Person" due to regulations.
