    The SECAI Scholarships are designed for highly qualified students who intend to study Artificial Intelligence or related disciplines while building strong research careers and professional networks in one of Europe’s leading AI ecosystems.

    About the SECAI Scholarship

    The SECAI Scholarship supports talented students by covering living expenses in Germany, allowing recipients to focus fully on their studies and research activities.

    The scholarship program aims to:

    • Promote excellence in AI-related education and research

    • Support underrepresented groups in STEM, especially women

    Scholarship Benefits

    Eligibility Requirements

    To qualify for the SECAI Scholarships, applicants must:

    • Be enrolled in or applying to a Master’s program at TUD or UL
    • Study a discipline closely related to AI research
    • Demonstrate strong academic excellence
    • Typically possess a GPA equivalent to 1.7 or better in the German grading system
    • Show commitment to AI-related academic or research work

    Applicants experiencing difficult personal circumstances may still be considered even if they do not fully meet the GPA threshold.

    Application Process

    Students can apply for the scholarship while simultaneously applying for admission to a Master’s degree program. These are treated as separate applications.

    Applicants are required to complete the official application form and provide supporting academic documents.

    Application Deadline

    The application window runs from 1 April to 30 June.

    Early Selection Dates

    • 19 April — LL.M International Studies in Intellectual Property Law and Data Law
    • 19 May — All study programs

    Although early submission is optional, outstanding applications may receive earlier consideration.
