Overview
Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform trusted by over 10,000 organizations. This remote opportunity for a Senior Backend Engineer focuses on databases and Loki Query within the contexts of metrics, logs, and traces.
Key Responsibilities
- Take an active role in influencing the team’s roadmap and personal career objectives.
- Work with the team to deliver new features and iterate on them.
- Drive projects from initial ideation to operations.
- Contribute to an open-source culture and other projects outside your team’s scope.
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and availability.
- Participate in on-call rotations with ownership of services running.
- Support team members and engage in design discussions.
- Learn new skills and understand the cloud product, customers, and the codebase of a large distributed system.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language such as Go, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience with delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipment in a self-driven way.
- Experience developing software that operates in the Cloud or with systems engineering.
- Ability to write clean, robust, and maintainable software.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.
- Prior use of Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with on-call tasks or infrastructure as code.
