Senior Backend Engineer - Databases Pyroscope | Ireland | Remote @Grafana Labs

Overview

Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform trusted by over 10,000 organizations. They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to contribute to Pyroscope, an open-source continuous profiling database.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to rollout, including design, delivery, operations, and customer follow-up.
• Design, build, and operate core components of a distributed database, making trade-offs on performance, cost, and complexity.
• Participate in customer calls to translate pain points into manageable deliverables.
• Drive operational excellence, owning outcomes against SLOs and reducing toil through automation.
• Collaborate with other teams across Grafana to enhance the usability of profiles.
• Contribute to open source by engaging with the community and reviewing external contributions.
• Participate in on-call rotation for the services you build.

Requirements

• Experience with a systems language; Go is preferred.
• Experience in building and operating cloud services and understanding of multi-tenant data systems.
• Comfortable with engaging customers and breaking down complex problems.
• Strong software craftsmanship and operational mindset.
• Ability to work well in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
