Overview

Grafana Labs is a 100% remote company known for Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform. They are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their remote team, focusing on Pyroscope, an open-source continuous profiling database.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept to rollout, improving read path efficiency and trace-to-profile correlation.
• Design, build, and operate core components of a distributed database, focusing on performance and cost.
• Engage with customers to translate pain points into manageable deliverables.
• Drive operational excellence by meeting specific SLOs and reducing manual toil through automation.
• Collaborate across Grafana teams to integrate profiling features effectively.
• Participate in on-call duties and contribute to open-source communities.

Requirements

• Experience with systems languages (Go, Rust, C, C++, Python, Java).
• Background in building and operating cloud services and distributed systems.
• Strong product sense and ability to communicate with customers.
• Experience with software craftsmanship, focusing on clean and maintainable code.
• Operational mindset with experience in SRE or infrastructure as code.
• Curiosity and courage to challenge the status quo.
