This consultancy offers an impactful opportunity to shape international standards for cultural economic measurement. Contribute to UNESCO’s efforts to enhance cultural data systems worldwide and support evidence-based policymaking.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and revise the 2018 draft document for the International Recommendations for Culture Satellite Accounts (CSA).
- Describe key concepts, definitions, and how CSA integrates into the System of National Accounts (SNA).
- Outline uses, limitations, and criteria for developing a CSA.
- Produce summary tables, indicators, and classifications.
- Identify and recommend data sources.
- Review past UIS work, including the 2017 and 2018 recommendations.
- Incorporate results from global consultations and UIS CSA Technical Advisory Group recommendations.
- Participate in at least one international meeting in Montreal, Canada.
- Prepare detailed outlines and draft documents for review.
- Finalize recommendations based on expert feedback.
- Ensure timely submission of all project phases, from initial drafts to final reports.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in economics, cultural economics, or related quantitative disciplines.
- Minimum of 10 years in economic statistics, research, or working with Systems of National Accounts.
- Proven research and analytical skills.
- Experience in developing international statistical frameworks.
- Excellent English writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Autonomous and client-focused work ethic.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written). Knowledge of additional UN languages (French, Spanish, Arabic) is advantageous.
