Overview

This position offers a unique opportunity for experienced climate policy professionals to significantly contribute to international climate action efforts aimed at halting and reversing global forest loss by 2030.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical policy expertise on forest carbon markets.
• Support member countries in developing and delivering shared climate commitments.
• Contribute technical analysis related to national and international forest policies.
• Draft high-level policy briefs, technical papers, and strategic documents.
• Support development and implementation of annual workplans aligned with FCLP priorities.
• Coordinate collaboration among FCLP member countries.
• Facilitate meetings and ensure active participation across working groups.
• Monitor implementation progress and maintain records of actions taken.
• Engage governments, NGOs, civil society organisations, donors, and technical partners.
• Coordinate participation in major global events related to climate policy.

Requirements

• An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Environment, International relations, Environmental law, Economics, Public policy, or related disciplines.
• Minimum five years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong understanding of forest carbon markets and jurisdictional REDD+ systems.
• Excellent analytical and drafting skills.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; French is desirable.
