Senior Corporate Counsel – Legal Transactions @Five9

Overview

Five9 is seeking an experienced commercial attorney for its in-house Transactions Legal Team within the Legal and Compliance organization. This remote role focuses on enabling Five9’s revenue growth by supporting the company's sales and commercial operations through drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including master services, data processing, partner and reseller, and confidentiality agreements.
• Manage complex legal transactions across various customer scales and sectors such as retail, finance, and healthcare.
• Advise internal stakeholders on liability, data use, privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance considerations.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Product, Compliance, Procurement, and Finance teams.
• Identify legal risks and provide practical solutions to achieve business objectives while managing risk.
• Assist in developing and improving contract templates and legal processes to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
• 7 to 12 years of combined experience in law firm and in-house settings.
• 4+ years of in-house experience with complex agreements in a technology sales environment.
• Experience with negotiating SaaS, cloud, and technology agreements.
• Solid understanding of telecommunications, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commercial judgment balancing legal risk with business objectives.

Location

This role is hybrid, with 3 days a week (T, W, TH) in the San Ramon office required. The position is open to remote candidates within the United States.
