Senior Cyber Security Engineer, Elastic (Security Operations) @Bitpanda

Overview

This role is for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer at Bitpanda, a company founded in 2014 in Vienna, Austria. The position focuses on enhancing security operations and protecting millions of users' identities and digital assets through effective security measures and incident response.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and quality of the detection library in Elastic Security, designing high-fidelity detections.
• Lead investigations into complex security incidents and proactively hunt for advanced threats.
• Design and implement automated investigation, enrichment, and response workflows.
• Improve cloud security monitoring and support compliance initiatives.
• Act as a technical leader and mentor within the Security team.
• Participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on security engineering experience.
• Experience in incident response, threat hunting, and automation of security processes.
• Proficiency in securing cloud-native environments, particularly AWS.
• Ability to lead initiatives and communicate effectively.
• Experience with Elastic Security, ES|QL, and KQL is highly desirable.
