Senior Data Security Architect @Fastly

Overview

Fastly is seeking a Senior Data Security Architect to protect sensitive data across corporate and production systems, translating data governance requirements into technical controls. The role involves partnership with various teams to design and implement tools for regulatory and customer data obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical security strategy across data domains including data security and quality.
• Embed data security into system design, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and other teams.
• Identify and implement tooling that protects sensitive data at an enterprise level.
• Harden and configure corporate systems to mitigate data access risks.
• Assess and mitigate data-related risks with system and data owners.
• Act as a bridge between data governance and engineering realities.
• Continuously improve data security posture by evaluating emerging threats and technologies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering or data architecture.
• Hands-on experience with data discovery, DLP, or data protection tools.
• Experience turning policy and regulatory requirements into technical controls.
• Strong grounding in system and data architecture.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and work across organizational boundaries.
