Overview

The U.S. Embassy in Abuja is seeking applications for the position of Senior Immunization Specialist (Public Health Specialist). This full-time position is open to all interested candidates and offers a salary of USD 52,282 per year.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and other partners.
Design, implement, and strengthen routine disease surveillance systems.
Support large-scale surveys to measure Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) prevalence.
Improve routine immunization coverage in Nigeria.
Provide technical expertise in epidemiology and immunization programs.
Coordinate with government staff, multi-disciplinary teams, and international partners.
Plan emergency vaccinations and respond to outbreaks.

Requirements

Medical degree (MD/MBBS) and NYSC Certificate or Exemption.
Minimum of five years of mid to senior-level experience in public health programs.
Fluency in English and knowledge of polio and VPD epidemiology.
Experience with epidemiological data analysis software (R, STATA, SAS, SPSS, or Python).
