    Overview

    Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for their Platform Metal team, which focuses on building and provisioning resources for Grafana Cloud, a fully managed observability platform. This position is fully remote but limited to candidates in the UK, Spain, and Ireland.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the physical "Metal" environment from bare metal to Kubernetes.
    • Oversee cluster networking components, including load balancing, NAT, DNS, and routing protocols.
    • Manage scheduling and autoscaling tasks.
    • Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for common resources.
    • Collaborate with Grafana Cloud application teams to understand their needs and investment priorities.

    Requirements

    • Experience with distributed systems and a collaborative working style.
    • Strong understanding of the full development lifecycle.
    • Datacenter experience and participation in an on-call rotation.
    • Proficiency in programming with Go, Python, and Shell.
    • Experience in operating and managing workloads on Kubernetes.
    • Bonus points for knowledge of Cluster-API, Tinkerbell, Talos, Ceph, Terraform, and Crossplane.
