Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate MongoDB infrastructure for enterprise-grade SLAs, focusing on availability, durability, and query performance.
• Build proactive monitoring and alerting systems for MongoDB infrastructure.
• Lead capacity planning and sharding strategy, ensuring system enhancements as data volumes evolve.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on MongoDB incidents and implement system improvements.
• Enhance the MongoDB developer experience by partnering with product teams and creating self-service tooling.
• Manage MongoDB clusters using tools like Terraform and Ansible, focusing on automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident retrospectives to improve incident response processes.

Requirements

• Solid experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
• Hands-on MongoDB expertise including replica sets, sharding, and performance tuning.
• Strong fundamentals in Linux and operational comfort at the OS level.
• Programming skills in Python, Go, Ruby, or JavaScript.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• A systems thinker with a bias towards documentation and collaboration.
• Nice to have: Experience with MongoDB at multi-terabyte scale and familiarity with related technologies such as Redis and Kafka.
