Senior Site Reliability Engineer I @Braze

Overview

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer I position at Braze focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of internal-facing services and platforms. Braze is a company dedicated to empowering brands through customer engagement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead NGINX & Kubernetes Ingress Infrastructure:
• Architect and Operate Ingress Fleets, configuring and tuning NGINX routing and proxying for API ingestion traffic.
• Own and Expand Scaling Routines, utilizing metrics and customized policies for high-throughput services.
• Partner with Product Teams on Resilient Architectures:
• Translate Product Requirements for API features into scalable technology stacks.
• Manage SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets while conducting systems design and capacity planning.
• Incident Response & On-Call Excellence:
• Participate in a PagerDuty on-call rotation to resolve incidents and update runbooks.
• Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement system improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer in a high-scale production environment.
• Deep hands-on experience with NGINX and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix internals.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Excellent documentation practices and collaboration skills in remote teams.

Location
