Overview

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry by providing essential services for customers and flexible earning opportunities for Personal Shoppers. The company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Growth to join their remote team within the continental United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal platforms for audience targeting and CRM campaign execution.
• Develop highly scalable software and ensure rapid rollout of upgrades and features.
• Design and implement targeting features using demographic and behavioral signals.
• Build intuitive user interfaces for offers, segments, and content configuration.
• Analyze and optimize SQL queries.
• Build large-scale data pipelines and model user data for performance improvement.
• Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting of current systems.
• Determine solutions to programming issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent) or 4 years of experience in the job offered or related, including 2 years in each required special skill.
• 2 years of experience with Java, Ruby, Python, or similar programming languages.
• 2 years of experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, or similar data management systems.
• 2 years of experience with client/server and application architectures.
• 2 years of experience with distributed codebases and cross-functional teams.
• 2 years of experience with data streaming and big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow, Hadoop).
• 2 years of data engineering experience including developing data pipelines and ensuring data quality.
