Seriti is seeking a highly skilled Grade Controller (C5) to join the Klipspruit New Largo division in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and standards of mined coal, conducting regular mining visits, and coordinating with various stakeholders to maintain coal quality compliance.

The role involves auditing, quality tracking, risk management, and adherence to safety and environmental policies.

Key Responsibilities

Coal Quality Assurance and Monitoring

• Conduct audits to verify that coal delivered from mines aligns with agreed standards and plans.
• Regularly visit mining sites to oversee coal quality and stockpile management.
• Track and report on coal quality in stockpiles, sampling and monitoring inflows and outflows.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with mining teams and business planning to update geological models with accurate data.
• Liaise with plant operations, mining personnel, and business planners to ensure coal quality objectives are met.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure all operations adhere to company policies, standards, and legal requirements.
• Identify potential risks, communicate findings, and implement cost-effective mitigation measures.
• Investigate non-conformance issues and develop improvement solutions.

Leadership and Development

• Provide technical support and coaching to contractor personnel.
• Uphold safety, health, environment, and community (HSEC) standards.
• Follow personal development plans and performance contracts.

Requirements

• Diploma or Junior Degree in Geology.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a production environment.
• Site-specific program knowledge.
• Computer literacy in MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness.

Advantageous Qualifications

• Registration with SACNASP, GSSA, or relevant professional body.
• Knowledge of legislative requirements applicable to mining.
• Familiarity with geological software and mine business planning.
