Overview

The Sharjah Art Foundation is offering the SFP9 Short Film Production Grant, providing financial support to independent filmmakers worldwide to assist in the production and completion of innovative short films.

Eligibility

• Open to filmmakers of all nationalities, ages, and backgrounds.
• Must submit an original, unfinished short film project.
• Final film length must not exceed 50 minutes.
• Script must be provided in English or Arabic.
• Include Arabic and English subtitles in the final film.
• Only one application per director is allowed.

Benefits

• Total funding available: 120,000 AED (approximately $30,000 USD).
• Individual awards vary based on project scope and needs.
• Selected films may premiere at a future edition of the Sharjah Film Platform.
• Funding can cover production and post-production costs including filming, editing, sound design, licensing, and subtitling.

Applicants must submit a complete application package, including:

• A completed online application form.
• A three-minute video pitch (via Vimeo or YouTube).
• An original script.
• A detailed budget plan.
• A realistic production schedule.

Incomplete applications or late submissions will be automatically disqualified.
