Software Engineer II @Fivetran

Overview

Fivetran is seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineer to join their fast-growing data company. The role involves driving performance improvements, enhancing reliability and architecture, and building new features for NoSQL data pipeline services.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and deliver reliable code with automated tests (unit and integration)
• Optimize code for performance
• Break down projects into tasks with estimates
• Participate in code reviews providing and receiving feedback
• Collaborate with team members to develop new features while minimizing technical debt
• Resolve customer issues in collaboration with customer support
• Work across the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, prototype, implementation, review, release, and monitoring
• Utilize AI coding agents to automatically generate code for various use cases

Requirements

• Expertise in Java development
• Experience with high-volume data management under strict SLAs
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Familiarity with AI coding agents
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Amazon DynamoDB)
• Understanding of clean code practices
• Able to troubleshoot and identify root causes of code issues

Optional Bonus Skills

• Experience with MongoDB or Amazon DynamoDB change data capture
• Experience in developing ETL or ELT integration tools
• Identifying and optimizing performance bottlenecks in distributed systems

Location
