Software Engineer | Private Cloud Systems @SingleStore

Overview

The Infrastructure Systems Engineering team is building a next-generation private cloud infrastructure to support internal use cases and new initiatives. As a Software Engineer for Private Cloud Systems, you will design, implement, and improve systems at lower abstraction levels, collaborating with a skilled team to balance best practices with innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop major infrastructure components, focusing on fault tolerance and performance.
• Engage in distributed leadership, shifting between leading, collaborating, and following peers on various projects.
• Own systems end-to-end from design to production.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure successful integration and operation of infrastructure systems.
• Foster an environment where mistakes lead to learning and improvement.
• Enable fact-driven decision-making using data or code.
• Drive continuous improvement in system reliability and usability.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in systems software development and optimization.
• Deep expertise in areas such as virtualization, storage, service modeling, scientific computing, or kernel development.
• Curiosity and drive to learn new technologies.
• Experience with distributed systems design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in at least one systems programming language (C/C++, Golang) and one scripting language (Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with shells on *nix systems.
• B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with low-level monitoring & profiling tools (e.g., pcm, perf, bpf).
• Interest in distributed elastic AI / LLM CPU inference technologies.
• Familiarity with distributed SQL databases such as SingleStore.
