Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the organizational and technical strategy for AI Foundations and Proactive Experiences.
• Build and lead a high-performing engineering organization, ensuring clarity and strong execution across multiple workstreams.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Research, and Data Science to shape the roadmap for Pinterest experiences.
• Develop foundational AI capabilities for context-aware and personalized experiences.
• Oversee execution on a multi-year roadmap for reusable AI capabilities across the product ecosystem.
• Raise standards for engineering excellence, including reliability, security, and operational health.
• Establish mechanisms for technical direction and delivery.
• Grow exceptional talent while fostering an ambitious engineering culture.
• Coach managers and senior individual contributors, building leadership for future growth.
• Align investments with company leadership to focus on high-leverage opportunities.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading engineering teams in AI/ML and consumer-facing AI systems.
• Proven success as a senior engineering leader managing complex cross-functional teams.
• Strong track record in strategy and execution for large-scale organizations.
• Experience in foundation model integration and LLM-powered systems.
• Proficiency in user understanding and agentic systems.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and convert opportunities into measurable outcomes.
• Strong partnership skills with PM, Design, and Data Science teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits

The position is eligible for equity, with a base salary range of $208,592 — $429,545 USD, depending on location and experience. Additional details about company culture and benefits can be found on the Pinterest website.

Location

This position is remote but may require in-office collaboration 1-2 times per month in Seattle, Palo Alto, or San Francisco.
