Overview

Pinterest is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer for its Data Product Platform. This role involves providing technical leadership and direction across data warehousing, analytical tools, and data governance to enhance data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead the definition and design of Pinterest's data warehouse architecture and governance.
• Set strategic direction for world-class data analytics tools.
• Define and drive adoption of comprehensive data governance policies.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance user experience and data usability.
• Drive significant business impact through platform and tooling initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards across teams.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to meet user needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of relevant industry experience with large scale data warehouses and platforms.
• 5+ years building data warehouses and tools using technologies like Spark, Trino, Flink, Airflow, etc.
• Experience in building AI tools for data pipeline authoring and analytics.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Benefits

Salary range: $208,592 — $429,454 USD, plus equity. Additional details on workplace culture and benefits are available on the company's website.

Location

Remote, within the US with occasional in-office collaboration 1-2 times per quarter.
