Staff Product Security Engineer @Affirm

Overview

The role of Staff Product Security Engineer at Affirm involves building and running the end-to-end security review process for enterprise AI/LLM systems. The team ensures that security is embedded into every system and decision at Affirm, and this position aims to enable the safe adoption of AI by partnering with various departments across the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve Affirm's enterprise AI security review process.
• Threat model AI/LLM-based systems and drive remediation for identified risks.
• Review source code and assist tool owners in building security-focused test cases.
• Design security guardrails and tooling for AI systems.
• Evaluate third-party SaaS vendors as part of vendor security reviews.
• Identify emerging AI-related security vulnerabilities and contribute to incident response playbooks.
• Lead cross-functional AI security initiatives and advise stakeholders.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in designing and maintaining security architecture for AI systems.
• Practical experience in threat modeling and reviewing AI applications.
• Expertise in AI governance artifacts and evaluating SaaS AI capabilities.
• Experience with enterprise tools for AI visibility and familiarity with corporate AI systems.
• Ability to build security tooling and deploy services using Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of LLMs, agentic systems, and appropriate authn/authz models.
• Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and effective communication skills.
