Overview

1Password is seeking a Staff Security Engineer for Security Incident Response, a remote role available within the United States and Canada. This position involves serving as a senior technical leader to advance incident response capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the response to complex, high-severity security incidents.
• Design and build AI-assisted systems to enhance incident triage and containment.
• Own and manage security programs, including tabletop exercises and readiness initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and elevate the technical capabilities of the team.
• Partner with various teams to identify and close security gaps.

Requirements

• Significant experience in leading complex security incidents as an incident commander or technical lead.
• Expertise in designing AI-assisted automation for security operations.
• Strong software engineering skills, with experience in building production tooling.
• Understanding of cloud-native, SaaS, and identity-driven attack techniques.
• Experience in conducting readiness programs and translating findings into actionable improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to senior leadership.
• Experience mentoring engineers to enhance team capabilities.
