Overview

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry by providing grocery delivery services. The Strategic Finance Special Projects Manager role, reporting to the VP of Strategic Finance, involves managing special projects that promote disciplined growth and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own high-impact, ambiguous projects end-to-end, including opportunity sizing, financial modeling, and executive recommendations.
• Build and maintain complex forecasting and scenario models for informed strategic decisions.
• Translate financial analysis into executive-ready narratives, dashboards, and KPI scorecards.
• Define key metrics and extract insights to enhance business performance.
• Collaborate on high priority projects across the Strategic Finance organization, including Consolidation, Operating Costs, and Marketing Finance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting focusing on commercial deals or partnerships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including multi-scenario analyses.
• Proven experience managing the finance workstream for complex commercial agreements from inception to post-close tracking.
• Experience working with Sales/Business Development and Legal to structure contracts balancing growth and unit economics.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and unit economics, including portfolio-level P&Ls.
• Ability to communicate complex analyses to senior executives clearly.
