Strategy & Operations Manager – Emerging Fraud & Abuse @Deliveroo

Overview

The Strategy & Operations Manager for Emerging Fraud & Abuse will lead efforts to identify and mitigate new fraud patterns as the company grows. This role focuses on proactively discovering evolving abuse vectors and designing scalable solutions in collaboration with multiple departments to protect customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify Emerging Abuse: Proactively identify new fraud patterns and vulnerabilities; investigate anomalies; translate findings into actionable strategies.
• Build the Strategy: Define the roadmap for fraud prevention; prioritize risks; develop business cases for investment in prevention tooling and product improvements.
• Turn Insights into Action: Lead investigations; partner with teams to design scalable prevention mechanisms; establish metrics to measure risks and mitigation effectiveness.
• Drive Cross-Functional Execution: Coordinate between various teams; influence product development roadmaps; support major launches by identifying abuse scenarios.
• Build Organisational Capability: Develop frameworks for threat identification; improve intelligence sharing; promote a culture of proactive fraud prevention.

Requirements

• Experience investigating complex fraud, abuse, or operational risk problems.
• Strong analytical skills, comfortable with SQL and large datasets.
• Structured problem-solving approach.
• Experience influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Ability to translate technical findings into business recommendations.
• Strong commercial judgement in balancing customer experience and risk mitigation.
• Experience in experimentation, machine learning, or trust and safety is advantageous.
