Overview

This position offers the opportunity to become a Supervisor Mechanical at Assmang Khumani Iron Ore Mine, one of South Africa’s leading mining operations, focusing on mechanical maintenance and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising mechanical maintenance activities
Managing contractors and maintenance teams
Budget management and cost control
Leading operational teams and workforce supervision
Driving continuous improvement initiatives
Ensuring SHERQ compliance and workplace safety standards
Monitoring plant and equipment performance
Ensuring operational reliability and production efficiency

Requirements

N3 National Certificate in Engineering Studies
Engineering Technical Trade Test Certificate in either Boilermaker, Fitter, or Electrician
Management or ARM Supervisory Certificate (Recommended)
Minimum 4 years experience in a mining or maintenance operational environment
Minimum 3 years supervisory or leadership experience
Must be medically fit according to Mine Health and Safety standards
Valid Code EB (Code 8) Driver’s License
Strong knowledge of SHERQ standards
